Cheap and fun Saturday Activities 5/16

Kids Day America. A free health, safety, and environmental awareness day. Hearing screenings, child ID cards, Meridian Police Department will be provide fingerprinting of all the children, appearances by McGruff The Crime Dog and Sparky the Fire Dog, a fire truck teaching fire safety, ballons, food, and fun for all ages. Idaho Hummingbirds. Take a guided tour of the hummingbird garden, and hear stories about hummingbirds with a kids' activity to follow. 2-3:30pm, MK Nature Center, fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/education/mknc/, 334-2225.

Boise Bike Week Pedal Power Parade and Finale. A group, family-friendly, ride through the downtown Boise area. It is a parade so wear your parade best and dress up those bikes, and helmets are required. Pizza, drinks and a raffle to follow. 5pm, Capitol Park, www.boisebikeweek.org/parade.

Science Saturday. Zoologist theme, for kindergarten students. 1-3pm, Discovery Center of Idaho, www.scidaho.org, 343-9895. Registration and fee required.

Willow's Playday. Free craft for all ages, Katie the Face Painter, and The Balloon Man. 11am-1pm, Children's Store, www.childrens-store.net, 322-4366.
